Product Description

I designed, carved, and cast both the frame and the tableau/insert: they're wholly original. The free-standing pieces are meant to be placed on a mantelpiece, a bookcase, a counter top, an end table, etc. Both the frame and tableau are cast in modified gypsum with metal powders. Once the pieces cure, my wife, Karen, paints and glazes them. Each piece comes with a decorative history card affixed to the back that states: "Brendan (486-575) is an example to anyone entering a new stage: graduation, new job, new business.... Brendan accomplished much, building monasteries, sailing with a group of monks from Ireland to America (before Columbus), succeeding because he was able to greet challenges with his vast sense of life as purposeful, delightful, and holy. This image of Brendan was handmade at In the Co. of Saints." Dimensions: 7 (h) x 4 (w) x 2.5 (d) inches.
